I’ve got one of those odd problems I’ve been trying to solve for some time. In an client company of about 16 users I have one shared calendar where when I set the permissions for another user as “Editor” it reverts to “Reviewer”. I’ve gotten it to work for a couple of hours to a couple of weeks and then it just goes back and I have to fight with it again. Yesterday I noticed before this happened that Outlook on the master calendar went to “Not Responding” for a few moments and that’s when the permissions changed and I couldn’t keep them fixed.

Sometimes on the other side delegated user the whole calendar will go blank and she can click “Update Folder” in the ribbon, but at times I’ve had to go in and turn off Cached mode.

Can this be some kind of sync error? One other thing to consider. While this issue has been going on for about 2 months now prior to that everything was fine I’ve just replaced the laptop the boss works on shared master calendar with a new Windows 10 Pro. New profile, clean credential manager, new Office install Worked for all of 2 and a half working days before this happened yesterday.

At this point I’ve gone in and change the Account Delegate Access permission settings from Custom to “Editor” and the Calendar user permissions to “Editor” and for the last two days seem to be stable. But this isn’t the first time I’ve done either of these things.

Hi GeneDianoski, According to your description, the permission is changed itself automatically. Would you please disconnect the Outlook for Windows client and use the outlook web client for a few days to monitor if the issue reoccurs.

Please also create a test account and grant the permission to other user, check if there is the same issue occurs. As mentioned in the previous post, would you please help confirm if the accounts belong to Office or they are on-premises accounts?

Best regards, Coldwell. According to your description, the permission is changed itself automatically. So far the changes I’ve set late last week are holding. The only issue I’ve seen is, yesterday, on the delegate side the user needed to click Update Folder again to get info in the calendar and contacts to update.

I will update this if they change again – Note I don’t have Admin credentials to this particular O account, but can inform those who do if necessary. If the Outlook settings change again I will have them use OWA for a day or two and inform the O Admin and update this thread as you suggest, but as long as it seems to work I’ll get nothing but push back in suggesting using OWA.
